  Working in local TV news was something I wanted to do since I was a child...ask my parents, I would stage interviews and anchor from the couch in our ranch-style home when we had smooth wood hugging the TV and its 4 channels. ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS during the 1980s. My dad is a news lover and from a young age, I always watched news. Most parents in today's world would say "She's too young. You can't expose kids to that!" But when did a Nelson truly listen to other people? I grew up watching Charleston TV news. I idolized local reporters during Hurricane Hugo like Cathy O'Hara, had a crush on Dan Krosse and was even scared to walk up to Kellen Butler when we were both at the Music Farm. Local Kidney Transplant Recipient Everett German Takes On the Charleston Kidney Walk

One in eight South Carolinians has chronic kidney disease and South Carolina is fifth in the nation with the number of patients on dialysis. One of those patients once on dialysis is College of Charleston basketball radio commentator and former television talk show host Everett German. Today, he’s as healthy as he ever has been, thanks to a kidney transplant on June 8, 2011.  To celebrate his second chance at life, German took the lead on bringing a walk to Charleston to help provide Awareness, Prevention and Treatment to the Lowcountry. German’s plan will take center stage with the inaugural Charleston Kidney Walk on Sunday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m. at James Island County Park. Noisy Oyster Celebrates 25 Years With a Facelift and Menu Enhancements

Fourth generation restauranteur Wade Boals and business partner Brett Yearout are proud to showcase the new renovations and menu enhancements at both Noisy Oyster Restaurant locations, located at 7842 Rivers Avenue and 24 N Market St, in honor of their 25 years in the Lowcountry restaurant scene. With the help from famed chef Bob Waggoner, Boals and Yearout enhanced the menu with more local ingredients and a farm-to-table perspective. Waggoner also consulted on plate presentation. The interior of the restaurant will be unrecognizable to those who frequent the North Charleston location with a more open floor plan, new decor, updated color palette and more than ten HDTVs .
