Embrace Your Inner Hippie at Irvin~House Vineyards’ New Event, Winestock Music Festival

Irvin~House Vineyards is embracing the Age of Aquarius with their new event, Winestock Music Festi val on Saturday, May 11 from noon until 6:00 p.m. Think of it as Woodstock with a wine twist, Winestock will offer wine and Firefly tastings, live music, food, a “Best Hippie” costume contest and  entertainment for the little hippies. Admission is $5 per adult, children are free. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the music of the featured performers: The Sweetgrass Girls, The Bullgrapes, and The Tarlatans. Patrons are encouraged to bring their cash and credit for a wide variety of libations and food vendors including: Farm on Fire, Jack’s Cosmic Dogs, Stono Cafe, Diggity Donuts and King of Pops. Light it up! Firefly Distillery Introduces Moonshine!

Firefly Distillery co-founders Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt announce the launch of Firefly Moonshine! Distilled out of South Carolina pride, Firefly Moonshine is a raw southern spirit from the creators of the original Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka. Firefly Moonshine is produced in six flavors: White Lightning, Apple Pie, Caramel, Cherry, Strawberry, and Peach. They are between 41.1 and 100.7 proof; 20.55% and 50.35% alcohol by volume.  Each has a unique flavor that delivers on low country character yet packs a punch. Jim Irvin and Scott Newitt have been experimenting with lots of regional flavors ever since they built their first homemade still. Raise a glass! Sippin’ Saturdays return to Irvin~House Vineyards Saturday, March 30. Every Saturday from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m, spring through fall, the winery will serve up a different local food vendor and musical group to entertain locals and visitors. There is no admission fee but patrons are encouraged to bring their cash and credit for a wide variety of libations and food options.  The first installment of the 2013 Sippin’ Saturdays kicks off Saturday, March 30 with live music from Gaslight Street and delicious food from Lowcountry Creole at Irvin~House Vineyards on Wadmalaw Island.
