For the past 43 years, high schools from around the Lowcountry have come together to kick off football season at the Sertoma Football Classic. This year’s event, once again sponsored by C.T. Lowndes and Company, will be Thursday, August 21st and Friday, August 22nd at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium.  This annual tradition not only signals the beginning of high school football in the Lowcountry, but also assists local nonprofits to continue their missions with 100% of the proceeds going to local charities and schools.  Windwood Family Services, Eagle Harbor Ranch, Trinitas Foundation, Camp Happy Days, Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald House, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, West Ashley JROTC, SCHSL, participating schools and other charities were all recipients of last year’s Sertoma Football Classic. Firefly  Distillery is proud to be a part of Party in the Park, which kicks off tomorrow at the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park. All the proceeds from the Firefly Cocktail Tent will benefit Windwood Family Services. Drinks are $5 and include our Sweet Tea Vodka, Firefly Vodka and Sea Island Rum . Saturday's weather better be delightful because hundreds of our closest Lowcountry friends will descend upon Windwood Farm Home for Children for the first Firefly Distillery Southern Spirit Festival. Just in time for the autumn weather, Windwood Farm Home for Children will open their gates to the public on Saturday, Nov. 6 to celebrate the first Firefly Distillery Southern Spirit Festival, a blues and bluegrass festival to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit, which provides residential support to boys throughout South Carolina that have been abused or neglected. The event begins at noon and concludes at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, children 10 and under are free and can be purchased online at www.windwoodfarm.org.
