Jamming in the Sand: The Second Annual Patrick Davis Hope Town Songwriters Festival Returns to Abaco February 18-22, 2014

It was such a hit its first year, it’s even bigger and even better in 2014. The Second Annual Patrick Davis Hope Town Songwriters Festival will be held Tuesday, February 18 to Sunday, February 22, 2014 at locations all around Hope Town, Abaco including Firefly Sunset Resort , Harbour’s Edge Restaurant, Abaco Inn, Sea Spray Resort and Marina and Lubbers’ Landing Resort. The festival will illuminate this Bahamian beach village with events from some of Nashville’s greatest musical talent. All of the weekend’s events are free and open to the public. Songwriters performing include artists such as James Otto, Django Walker, Whitney Duncan, James Slater, Chris Destefano, Mark Bryan, Tyler Reeve, James Slater, Kylie Sackley, Jessie Rice, Phillip Lammonds and, festival host, Patrick Davis. These artists have been involved in the writing of hits for star performers like Zac Brown Band, Pat Green, Edwin McCain, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton, Alan

Cru Café to Close for Annual Enhancement in January

Annually, Cru Café closes for a week in January to give the restaurant a “freshening up”. This year, the cafe will be closed from January 5 - 13th for the aesthetic improvements to help maintain the cozy, intimate atmosphere guests have grown to love. Cru Café will reopen Tuesday, January 14 to the public. Always closed on Sunday and Monday.  For more on the cafe, visit www.crucafe.com . 

Irvin~House Vineyards Closed January

Every January, the animals take a long winter’s nap and the staff at Irvin~House Vineyards get to work behind the scenes cleaning and sprucing up the winery after a successful year. Therefore, the winery and vineyard is closed to the public for the month of January. It will reopen for tastings on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Regular hours for the vineyard are Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Their first schedule event is the Third Annual Cork Shuckin’ Festival on Saturday, February 8 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Details to follow. Charleston Oral and Facial Surgery Inc. welcomes Craig Rhyne Jr., DMD, to their practice and is proud to add a new location at 1203 Two Island Court Unit 102 in Mount Pleasant, formerly Palmetto Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Craig Rhyne, Jr., DMD is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has extensive training in all areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including facial cosmetic surgery. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from The Citadel in 1996. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina and received the AAOMS Dental Implant Student Award. He completed his residency in Oral& Maxillofacial Surgery Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  Following this he spent several years as a staff Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for the U.S. Army before returning to Mount Pleasant with his wife and
