47th Annual Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic Is Beneficiary of The Rusty Rudder’s Miracle Mondays in July

Dine for a cause and help local children, while supporting a locally-owned restaurant at the same time. The Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic is honored to be the July 2017 beneficiary of The Rusty Rudder’s Miracle Mondays. Every Monday in July, when you patron The Rusty Rudder in Mount Pleasant, 10% of proceeds will go to the Sertoma Club of Charleston/Sertoma Classic. The 2017 Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic is Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11, at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Tickets will go on sale for this annual tradition that kicks off high school football season later in July, via local participating high school cheerleading teams and online.
“This is the second year The Rusty Rudder has designated the Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic as one of its chosen charities for Miracle Monday. And with five Mondays in July, it gives the community a chance to have lunch or dinner numerous times to help the charities the Classic supports annually.” said Susan Spearman, President of Sertoma Club of Charleston.
Last year, the proceeds from the Classic allowed the Sertoma Club of Charleston to award more than $90,000 to local charities and high schools that participated in the event. Each participating high school cheerleading team received a portion of proceeds of ticket sales and participating football teams received funds to help their team with items such as equipment, uniforms and more. Those charities receiving financial awards have been chosen by the Sertoma Club of Charleston because they serve children and families throughout the Tri-county area. A list of charities are available online at CharlestonSertoma.org.
