No Sweat! Club Level VIP Tickets Now On Sale for the 47th Annual Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic

Every year, the Sertoma Football Classic enhances the activities and events that make the Classic a tradition. On this 47th year, The Sertoma Club of Charleston and Hendrick Automotive Group of Charleston is proud to offer VIP Viewing tickets for $50 per person. These tickets allow you to enjoy the air-conditioned view from Johnson Hagood’s fourth floor club level with a complimentary buffet and non-alcoholic drinks. VIP tickets are available online at CharlestonSertoma.org and only a limited quantity are available. The fourth floor VIP viewing tickets are perfect for those who would like to enjoy the match-ups in the air-conditioned club level with panoramic views of the Ravenel Bridge. 

For 47 years, local high school students from the Tri-county area come together to showcase their school’s talent both on the football field and off. The 2017 Hendrick Charleston Sertoma Football Classic is Thursday, August 10 and Friday, August 11, at Johnson Hagood Stadium. General Admission tickets for this annual tradition are now on sale via local participating high school cheerleading teams and online at CharlestonSertoma.org. Tickets are $12.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer the club level this year to our patrons. It allows those who may not be able to endure the heat to sit comfortably in the air conditioning and cheer on their high school team. With a complimentary buffet and non-alcoholic drinks, these VIP tickets are a great way to give back to our charities, as all the proceeds from the tickets goes directly to them, along with the participating football and cheerleading teams.” said Susan Spearman, President of Sertoma Club of Charleston. 

Last year, the proceeds from the Classic allowed the Sertoma Club of Charleston to award more than $90,000 to local charities and high schools that participated in the event. Those charities receiving financial awards have been chosen by the Sertoma Club of Charleston because they serve children and families throughout the Tri-county area. A list of charities are available online at CharlestonSertoma.org. Gates for the event will open at 4:00 p.m. and kick off is at 5:00 p.m.

Details on How to Order Your Tickets and Designate Participating High School to Receive a Donation:
1. Visit Charlestonsertoma.org and click on the BUY TICKETS button
2. On the BUY TICKETS page click on the ticket that says TICKETS ON SALE NOW
3. Choose which date of the Classic you would like to purchase tickets a for and the select the GREEN button that says TICKETS 
4. Choose the ticket you wish to purchase (General Admission or Club Level) and the amount of those tickets you need 
5. Click the GREEN CHECKOUT button
6. Enter all of your credit card and billing information
7. In the section titled OTHER INFORMATION please use the drop down to select the school you wish to support at this year’s Classic. A portion of ticket sales will be donated back to the area high schools!
8. Finally click on the green PAY NOW button to submit your ticket purchase

Farewell to Dean Stephens of WCIV-TV

  Working in local TV news was something I wanted to do since I was a child...ask my parents, I would stage interviews and anchor from the couch in our ranch-style home when we had smooth wood hugging the TV and its 4 channels. ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS during the 1980s. My dad is a news lover and from a young age, I always watched news. Most parents in today's world would say "She's too young. You can't expose kids to that!" But when did a Nelson truly listen to other people? I grew up watching Charleston TV news. I idolized local reporters during Hurricane Hugo like Cathy O'Hara, had a crush on Dan Krosse and was even scared to walk up to Kellen Butler when we were both at the Music Farm.
