Ryan's Birthday Gift Request Day #4

 Great news! This birthday gift request doesn't cost a dime, maybe just an extra step or 2. 

 When my mom lost her leg & couldn't be fit with a prosthetic, she got around in a wheelchair. It opened my eyes to how ill-prepared our world is for those who are disabled and I saw pure disregard of the disabled spaces at the stores. So today, I ask you...if you see tons of carts in the spaces or gathered in the area where a disabled van should be able to unload...please move them out of the way. And in the future, walk your cart that extra step to the cart return. You'd be surprised at the people you'll make happy and you won't even know it. 


It's the little things...Thank you!

The Lowcountry lost one of our most amazing authors and my absolutely favorite persons, Dorothea Benton Frank aka Dottie/Dot Frank. Farewell to Dean Stephens of WCIV-TV

  Working in local TV news was something I wanted to do since I was a child...ask my parents, I would stage interviews and anchor from the couch in our ranch-style home when we had smooth wood hugging the TV and its 4 channels. ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS during the 1980s. My dad is a news lover and from a young age, I always watched news. Most parents in today's world would say "She's too young. You can't expose kids to that!" But when did a Nelson truly listen to other people? I grew up watching Charleston TV news. I idolized local reporters during Hurricane Hugo like Cathy O'Hara, had a crush on Dan Krosse and was even scared to walk up to Kellen Butler when we were both at the Music Farm.
