It’s Time to Get Groovy at the Irvin~House Vineyards & Firefly Distillery’s Winestock Music Festival

Peace! Dust off those bell bottoms and take a trip back to the 1960s and 1970s for Firefly Distillery and Irvin~House Vineyards’ annual Winestock Music Festival on Saturday, May 16 from noon until 5:00 p.m. Considered Woodstock with a wine twist, Winestock is a laid-back event offering Irvin~House Vineyard wines and Firefly spirit tastings, local food vendors, a “Best Hippie” costume contest and more. Admission is $5.00 per adult, children are free. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy live music under the oaks. Embrace your inner flower child and dress in your favorite hippie garb for the “Best Hippie” and “Best Little Hippie” costume contests. The winner will receive prizes from the Firefly Distillery and Irvin~House Vineyards. Jam with musical guests Danielle Howle, BYOG and Rawberry Jam. Spring Fever Is In the Air at Sippin’ Saturdays at Irvin~House Vineyards & Firefly Distillery

The flowers are blooming and warmer weather has hopefully settled in as we approach spring. Get out of the house and shake off your spring fever with Sippin’ Saturdays at Irvin~House Vineyards and Firefly Distillery. Every Saturday from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m, the winery and distillery will serve up a different local food vendor and musical group to entertain locals and visitors. There is no admission fee but patrons are encouraged to bring their cash and credit for a wide variety of libations and food options.  Bring lawn chairs and blankets to picnic under the oaks and relish in the Lowcountry beauty. The famous Irvin~House Vineyards Wine-a-Ritas will be served on the patio and Irvin~House Vineyards wine may be purchased by the glass or bottle and enjoyed outside. Tastings in the Firefly Distillery and Irvin~House Vineyard winery are only $6.00 to taste 6 of 24 flavors of Firefly Spirits and $5.00 to taste 5 wines. Local Kidney Transplant Recipient Everett German Takes On the Charleston Kidney Walk

One in eight South Carolinians has chronic kidney disease and South Carolina is fifth in the nation with the number of patients on dialysis. One of those patients once on dialysis is College of Charleston basketball radio commentator and former television talk show host Everett German. Today, he’s as healthy as he ever has been, thanks to a kidney transplant on June 8, 2011.  To celebrate his second chance at life, German took the lead on bringing a walk to Charleston to help provide Awareness, Prevention and Treatment to the Lowcountry. German’s plan will take center stage with the inaugural Charleston Kidney Walk on Sunday, March 22 at 2:30 p.m. at James Island County Park.
