Deck the Halls and Fill The Wine Racks at Irvin-House Vineyards’ Holiday Open Houses


With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season upon us, many are thinking of ways to entertain family and friends during the holidays. Escape to Charleston’s only winery, Irvin-House Vineyards for two Holiday Open Houses on Saturday, December 8 and Saturday, December 15 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at 6775 Bears Bluff Road on Wadmalaw Island. 



Each festive event will have local vendors selling delightful seasonal gifts. Shoppers over the age of 21 will receive a complimentary glass of homemade, hot mulled wine. While shopping, guests can enjoy the musical sounds of De Gullah Singers and The Plantation Singers and enjoy the tastes of Stono Cafe, who will be serving up some favorites for lunch under the oaks. 


If you’re in need of the perfect gift, the Firefly Distillery and Irvin-House Vineyard will have completed Lowcountry gift sets of all sizes for purchase and shoppers can create their own gift baskets with a variety of gift ideas including the Irvin-House Vineyards variety of wine, Firefly's newest line, Southern Accents liqueurs along with Firefly Sweet Tea spirits and Sea Island Rums.

Regular hours at the vineyard are Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please check our website for information on special holiday hours and closings.

Farewell to Dean Stephens of WCIV-TV

  Working in local TV news was something I wanted to do since I was a child...ask my parents, I would stage interviews and anchor from the couch in our ranch-style home when we had smooth wood hugging the TV and its 4 channels. ABC, NBC, CBS & PBS during the 1980s. My dad is a news lover and from a young age, I always watched news. Most parents in today's world would say "She's too young. You can't expose kids to that!" But when did a Nelson truly listen to other people? I grew up watching Charleston TV news. I idolized local reporters during Hurricane Hugo like Cathy O'Hara, had a crush on Dan Krosse and was even scared to walk up to Kellen Butler when we were both at the Music Farm.
