Firefly Distillery Tees Off at PGA Championship
The 94th PGA Championship at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort is less than a week away, and Firefly Distillery is asking golf enthusiasts to drink local while enjoying this monumental event. From Thursday, August 9 until Sunday, August 12, Firefly Sweet Tea Bourbon and the three flavors of Sea Island Rum will be available in the Wannamaker Club Tent at the Championship.
Firefly Sweet Tea Bourbon, combines two southern favorites for a perfect cocktail. Made with handcrafted straight bourbon whiskey from the world-renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, Firefly Sweet Tea Bourbon is infused with authentic South Carolina tea and real Louisiana sugarcane.
Sea Island Rums are unique, all-natural rums handcrafted at Firefly Distillery on Wadmalaw Island. Sea Island Rums are sold exclusively in South Carolina and include three delicious flavors: Gold Rum, Java Rum and Spice Rum. Using sugar cane from South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana, then aging the rum in bourbon barrels creates a unique flavor. Utilizing a Lowcountry twist is key for Firefly Distillery, which is why they use sugar cane from famed Johns Island resident and Rosebank Farms owner, Sidi Limehouse. Each rum has its own distinct flavor and can be served over ice or mixed in your favorite cocktail. Sea Island Rum contributes a percentage from each bottle sold to charities that promote clean water. The annual charitable cause is highlighted on the back of each bottle and website.
Sea Island Gold Rum uses Johns Island sugar cane and is aged for two years in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels. This smooth rum has hints of oak, bourbon and vanilla.
Sea Island Java Rum combines two island favorites, coffee and rum for an exquisite taste. We use 100% Colombian coffee and infuse this with our Sea Island Gold Rum.
Drink Local and showcase a true local champion in your back yard!
Guests can also take advantage of the Firefly drink specials at Red’s at Bohicket Marina during the championship as well.
